Alarm Clock Pro

Alarm clocks and radios can make you wake up indisposed, due to their annoying or static-filled sounds. With Alarm Clock Pro, you can make your computer wake you up anyway you want. The alarms you can set up with this application can serve other purposes as well, besides waking up. You can define various reminders, which can be triggered at a specific date and time or when a countdown timer hits zero. Additionally, the software can execute various actions when alarms are triggered.

Alarm Clock Pro is free to try for 15 days, but without any functionality restrictions. Its setup package is roughly 17 and a half MB and it takes only a few seconds to complete the installation process. The application is available for Windows and Mac OS X platforms and it doesn't use too much disk space, RAM or processing power.

Alarms can be managed in a familiar manner. They are displayed in a list, on the application's user interface and you can sort them in different folders. New alarms can be created on a separate window, on which you can make various settings, on separate tabs. Alarms can be scheduled to go off at a specific date and time or on a regular basis and it is also possible to set up a countdown timer.

Besides defining a schedule, you can also choose one or more automatic actions, by dragging them from one column to another. The application can be set to display on-screen messages and pronounce them with a narrator, perform an AppleScripts, compose and send emails, play iTunes, change the volume, open files or URLs and much more. Shutting down the computer, restarting and setting it to sleep mode are other possibilities. Additionally, the application allows you to add dates to an exclusion list, if you don't want an alarm to go off on certain days.

Additional tools can be found on the main interface, on a toolbar. You can view all scheduled alarms on a calendar, calculate the remaining time to a specific date, use a stopwatch, convert time between different time zones and view the computer's uptime.
